Namu is a Korean learning app that lets people create accounts, generate Korean stories, save words, and review flashcards. This policy explains what information Namu handles and why.

Namu uses Resend to send email verification and password-reset messages. Resend processes your email address and the message content, including the secure link, to deliver these emails. Passwords are never included in email. Namu stores verification status and hashed, expiring recovery tokens to secure accounts and prevent link reuse. These messages are for account security, not marketing.

Story ideas, story-generation requests, and definition requests may be processed by backend AI providers, including OpenAI, to produce the requested content. Please do not include sensitive personal information in prompts or story requests.

When you tap a pronunciation control, Namu sends the Korean text and speech settings to OpenAI to generate audio. These voices are AI-generated, not human recordings. Namu does not record your voice or request microphone access. Audio may be cached temporarily on your device and by the backend to reduce repeat requests.

Namu uses Google Analytics to understand website traffic and general product usage. Namu does not intentionally send emails, usernames, generated story text, saved words, or other personal learning content to Google Analytics.

Namu may use cookies or browser storage for login and session information, preferences, local learning data, and analytics. Disabling browser storage may prevent parts of the app from working correctly.

Stripe processes subscription payments and billing information for Namu Plus. Namu stores Stripe customer, subscription, price, status, renewal, refund, and dispute references needed to provide paid access and assist with billing. Namu does not receive or store your full card number.

Namu may share information with service providers needed to operate the product, such as hosting, analytics, AI, support, and payment providers. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, Namu, or the public. Namu does not sell users' personal information.

Account and learning data may be retained while an account is active and afterward as reasonably needed to operate the service, meet legal obligations, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or maintain backups.

You may contact support for help with account or data questions. Some preferences and locally stored data can also be changed or removed through the app or browser settings.

Namu is not intended for children under 13.
